A Room With A View. Whether you're adding a new shower or updating an existing one, you'll be making all sorts of crucial decisions, not the least of which are what type of doors to buy. While your choice of enclosure might seem as transparent as — well, glass — it's actually a bit more complicated. Facts you'll need to know include the exact dimensions of your shower space, how much room you have between the shower and other fixtures, how much time you want to invest in daily cleanup and whether those frameless shower doors you saw on a design blog are really the best fit for your lifestyle and your wallet. Take a look at the gorgeous steel-framed shower enclosure pictured above. Yes, it's custom-built and undoubtedly expensive. But it's also a reminder that there are loads of shower door options available in a range of prices — including some very attractive framed models. Armed with the right information, the best choice for your bathroom is sure to become crystal clear.

Glass shower doors are a common design element in many modern bathrooms. The clear doors make the bathroom appear larger, but offer little to no privacy. If it's necessary that two or three people share the bathroom some of the time, this creates a problem. Add some design elements to your bathroom to add privacy to the overexposing glass. Shower Curtain. Hang a shower curtain for privacy. It requires minimal effort and allows you to enhance the decor of your bathroom with color and design. Place a spring rod between the shower walls on the inside of the clear shower door. Attach the curtain to the rod with round rings or curtain clips. When you open your shower door, push the curtain to one side to enter the space. If you love the look of the clear glass, the curtain is easily taken down when entertaining guests or when your privacy needs change.
