A typical shower unit is built with just enough room for a single person, such as corner showers or the standard 3-foot wide shower stall or a stand-up shower/tub combo. If you want to design a two person shower you’ll be straying into the realm of custom walk-in showers. There are numerous ways you can choose to design a larger shower for more than one person, but choosing the balance between functionality, design and what your budget can handle is a delicate task.
It washes your body with a relaxing effect, replicating the feel of a soothing rain. Choose the perfect finish that coordinates with the rest of your bathroom – brass shower heads and brushed nickel are both great for a vintage design. Be sure to regularly clean your shower head in order to reduce the buildup of bacteria and promote an even spray of water. Soak your shower head with vinegar to help water flow freely. Attach a plastic bag to your shower head using a rubber band. Let it soak for about an hour, then remove the bag and run the water to get rid of excess vinegar.
Water pressure more important than volume. When buying a new shower head, try to match it to the existing hardware, which is usually chrome or brushed nickel, Johnson says. He highly recommends products from Pulse Shower Spas, which feature a shower head, a detachable hand shower and multiple body sprays. They range in price from $200 to more than $1,000. Libsack, however, recommends installing a smaller unit. “People like to feel the pressure even more than they do the volume,” he says. “So I recommend that they get away from large rain heads, and stick with 8-inch or smaller shower heads.”
What is a rain shower head? Designed to give the experience of showering in the rain, rain shower heads are often engineered to deliver multiple settings from drenching rain storm to a water saving trickle. Usually consisting of a thin square or round disk shaped head with many small holes in which water can flow out steadily and evenly. More advanced models include a pulse mechanism to force the shower spray to form into droplets. Even more advanced models allow multiple or even randomized settings.
